Important:  Changes in location of Project Folders for build 1.0.2.x

NOTE:  This information only applies if you have previously installed build 1.0.1.x.  The build number appears on the opening screen of The Ethnograph. 

The location the E6Projects folder has changed.

OLD: In previous releases, projects and data files were stored in c:\E6Projects.

NEW: Projects and data files are now stored in

\My Documents\E6Projects (Windows XP)  or  

\Documents\E6Projects (Windows Vista).

You need to move your projects to the new location.

 

The location of the E6 program files folder has changed.

 OLD: In previous releases the program files were stored in c:\E6.

 NEW: From this point forward program files are stored in c:\program files\Ethnograph6

You do not need to do anything about this change.  It is taken care of automatically by uninstalling the old version of The Ethnograph. 

To move your projects to the new location do the following:

Step I

1. Uninstall the previous version of E6 Beta.

Click Start >All Programs>The Ethnograph 6> Uninstall.

2. Install this version of E6 Beta. 

Step II

Use My Computer to copy your project folders from c:\E6Projects to either

\My Documents\E6Projects (XP) or

\Documents\E6Projects (Vista).

NOTE: Do not delete c:\E6Projects until after you have finished Step III

 Step III

1. Start Ethnograph,

2. Click Project Manager,

3. Click Find Old.

4. Click on the folder that contains your project.

5. Click OK.

NOTE: Repeat 3-5 if you have more than one project.
